Crock Pot Pulled Pork

Crock Pot Pulled Pork

Happy Memorial Weekend Friends!

For fun here is me last memorial day at 8 months preggo!!! AHH!! :)

Now I have my baby here to celebrate!!

Shopping List

1 large pork shoulder roast
seasoning of choice
one orange
one sweet onion
BBQ sauce ( I always use sweet baby rays)

Procedure:

Season pork how you like it ( for me I always do salt and pepper only)
slice your sweet onion and lay all around the pork
quater an orange and squeeze the juice all over the pork, then lay the wedges in between pork
top with a ton of BBQ sauce

** Cook for 8 hours on low

I love this recipe because it is SO versatile. I can add some cilantro and put into some tacos or put the pork atop some Hawaiin rolls and make mini sandwiches..or you can even stuff these in a sweet potato and top with some green onions and melted monterray jack cheese. It is so easy! Just throw it in!!!

Beauty Faves for Summer

Image result for hey beautiful

Happy FRIDAY and Memorial weekend!!!!

We don’t have much going on this weekend.. just the Farmer’s Market, probably some pool time and then church on Sunday!!! Easy and simple.. how I like it!!!

I have had a bunch of awesome coupons and gift cards to Nordstrom and have been hitting the beauty department hard! I love a good beauty product :) I have tried some beauty products out and thought I would share on the blog!!!

Everything is linked below!

1. THIS eye brightener is life CHANGING! I posted a little bit about it on my Instagram story but I am in LOVE! Basically this product “ wakes” up your tired mama/working girl face! You dab a little bit of the product in a triangular shape underneath your eye frame and then gently dab it outwards until well blended. For my summer look and also since we are constantly back and forth from the pool, working out, outside.. I typically only put on concealer, SPF BB cream, bronzer, and a SPF lip gloss. Thats it! This duo pack also comes with a nice little eye primer that helps your shadow stay on longer and NOT crease!

2. THIS lip scrub is great for dry, cracked, and dehydrated lips. If you are a Lip Sense girl or like to wear Matte lip stains this will definitely help to rejuvenate the mositure that those stains tend to suck out. Ever been kissed by someone with flaky lips?? Um yeah. GROSS. This stuff helps that NOT to happen :)

3.  Yep, I am going to talk about it again. I am OBSESSED with my Evian Facial spray. I am not kidding it makes a difference in your skin!!!! Spritz a little of this toner on your face all day long for hydrated skin. If you are at the pool, spritz a little bit on so your face doesn’t get that dry and tight feeling. I keep it in  my pool bag, diaper bag, regular bag ( ha when do I carry that?), and in my car. It is amazing!

These are a great product HOWEVER...and really listen to me when I say however, you MUST wear gloves while applying this product. Maybe some of you are reading this and thinking “ Well duh?!!!”

well for some of us that didn’t occur so I had orange hands and fingers as well as a nice little face glow.

also...USE SPARINGLY!!!

one pad and a few quick swipes to ensure full coverage is all you need.
Most of us are wearing a hat or SPF in the summer because #wrinkles so this little face pad is a nice way to get a sun kissed look without going all sun crazy.

5. Lastly what is a beauty post without some LIPGLOSS :)

I have recently started wearing the Lipsense Lipsticks that are LONG lasting and beautiful on!!

I will admit it took me a few tries to apply it properly but once I did I loved it!!! I was actually not wearing any lip gloss because I would hate to see it rubbed off on my poor baby’s head.  I was always the girl with the lip gloss party all over her wine glass..and on my water bottle. This stuff does not come off! I am going to become a distributer and am very excited about that fun little endeavor. In the meantime contact your local Lipsense distributor ( they are all over Facebook) and try out a color!!!

always add a glossy gloss to set the color in and you will look gorgeous all day!!

The two colors I started with were Pink Champagne and Plumeria.

Mango Banana Chia Seed Pudding

This is just a quick and easy recipe for baby..

If you have a little baby who is eating simple purees this would make for a great breakfast.

for an older baby ( like my own) we use this as part of our breakfast in addition to eggs or an after nap snack :)

BENEFITS OF CHIA SEEDS
Chia seeds are compose of 60% omega 3s which makes it one of the richest plant based sources of fatty acids. Because of it’s high in fiber it helps regulate bowels which is very important for those babies because they can get constipated easily.
In just 2 tablespoons of chia seeds daily you get –
* 10 grams of fiber
* 18% of DRI for calcium
* 35% of your phosphorus
* 24% Magnesium
* 50% Manganese
* Chia seeds can also be a egg replacer. The outer layer of the seed swells with mixed with liquids to form a gel. All you need to do is mix 1 tablespoon of chia seeds with 3 tablespoons of water and let sit for 15 minutes.
* There is no need to ground the chia seed because you can digest it whole, unlike flaxseed and can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 years.

RECIPE:

1 banana + 1 alfafa Mango ( the smaller yellow mangoes in the store)
puree in your baby bullet or food processor and add in one table spoon of chia seeds.
Refrigerate overnight :)

Enjoy!

Ten Months Old!!! & Some of our Favorite Things

TEN MONTHS.

How is my baby boy ten months?? I say this every month but REALLY!!?? TEN MONTHS?!
Honestly he just gets more and more fun:)

AND BUSY

TEN MONTHS HAS US

Clapping our hands on command, Walking everywhere assisted, pulling up on everything, throwing toys, doing “ TA-DA!” Hands in the air, prefers mommy over EVERYONE :), loves the dog, I mean LOVES the dog, loves water and swimming, tummy sleeper, very observant, still the paci king, loves eating table food and his favorite is still an avocado :)

He is truly joyous and the EASIEST baby ever.

Thank you for making my life so wonderful JHF mommy loves you to the MOON and BACK!

Now for some ten month FAVORITES!!!

We have just started our journey in becoming a little FISH!! Jax and I swim whenever we get a chance ( though the water is still a tad cold) we muster through and still enjoy it. He doesn’t LOVE being in a float but when he will tolerate it he will float in this floatie ( linked above) Mostly he loves for me to hold him and swim with him which is great since we start swim lessons soon!!

We seriously LIVE by our water table. The version I linked above is not our exact table but it was just as cute and has a lot for baby to do. If you have a STANDING baby or toddler I highly suggest one of these. I fill it with different toys to mix it up and it keeps baby entertained for a LONG time :)

These are our new favorite! When we are at home I usually chop and dice his food and place it on his high chair try.. BUT that gets gross and messy...so I have started using THESE placemats and they are PERFECT. They store easy in the diaper bag so if you wanted to take it to a restaurant you would feel comfortable knowing your baby isn’t eating off the table. I just ordered mine so I am excited to use it out somewhere!!

WE HAVE A TOOTH!!! We have really been waiting on our teeth for quite some time. Jax just cut his first two bottom incisors and, bless his heart, is in some pain! I found this natural teething oil at one of my favorite baby boutiques and wanted to use it to see if it worked. It worked great! I try and limit the tylenol usage since there is so much sugar but this seems to take the edge off to where he isn’t so fussy.

Punkin Butt Teething Oil 2 Ounce with RazBaby Teether

Nuby Garden Fresh Fruitsicle Frozen Pop Tray

I bought these a few months ago anticipating summer and I CANNOT wait to try them! Now that Jax a.) has a tooth and b) it is hot
we can totally put these to great use!

I will be posting some fun baby popsicle recipes soon to the baby portion of my blog!

These containers are so great. They are tiny enough to fit in a lunch box or insulated cooler/diaper bag, you can store them in your fridge easy enough with leftovers or pureed baby food. They stack great and don’t take up a bunch of room!!!!

Mothers’ Day Weekend 2017

Image result for mama

Happy Monday Friends!!! I hope you all had a very blessed Mother’s Day Weekend. I have never felt more special. I have waited to celebrate this holiday as “ Mama” for a while and this weekend did not disappoint.

Friday I was able to enjoy a little “ Me” time and was gifted an entire spa day by Brandon AKA Baby Jax.  I brought my champagne and enjoyed the day!!!!

Here I am as Queen Mama for the day

Saturday we went over to my parents’ house and enjoyed a family Mother’s Day BBQ and Jaxie gave all the girls his special gift:)

* Jax also turned TEN months old!!* Ten month Recap on the next post!!!

I am so proud to say I have a WATER BABY!!!!

Our Gifts to the grandmothers and part of my moms gift - I don’t have a full picture but all we did was take a 9 by 11 canvas and make a butterfly out of his feet :) It was pretty cute

Sunday was Simple- Just how I wanted it. Coffee in Bed, Church and Brunch... a big NAP, and playing in the front yard with some wine, sushi, and a water table.

I don’t take this holiday for granted. I never will.. for two years I was the girl in church wanting to stand but couldn’t :( Unsure of when I would EVER be a mom.. now here I am with a gorgeous baby boy and hopes for a second here soon! God is good y’all and he does hear prayers..I spent yesterday with a heart very full of gratitude.

Phillippians 4:6 was a prayer I constantly held onto during those difficult two years

“ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”

One thing I did then and still practice today is to pray with thanksgiving for my difficult circumstances... I know that may seem a little ironic... however it states clear as day in our bibles that we are to be thankful for our valleys, our difficult roads, our thorns in our thighs.. we are to be THANKFUL for them and then make our requests known to God and wait in expectance for him to deliver. I fully believe and expect God to deliver all of my wishes.. his timing is not my own but every thing I have prayed for I believed with my full heart that God will deliver and he HAS and still WILL.

And he will for you too <3

Happy Mama’s day

Here I am with the biggest blessing I could ever imagine

Ending our day perfectly

** A quick side** Roasted Veggies

Happy Tuesday!!

I have been slacking on the blogging front but here I am today with a quick and easy side that I have literally been making almost every single night!!

You know that moment when you stare into  your fridge.. RIGHT about the time you are ready to make your new grocery list and you think to yourself  “Dang! all these veggies have pretty much gone to waste” *sigh* That HUGE bag of spinach that you were going to make every single night ( and maybe throw a little in your morning smoothie) is wilted and gross. The carrots you were going to shred into that amazing healthy Asian inspired egg roll boll are now.. brown, the sprouts that you were going to top on your avocado toast are ...ruined. Yep I have been there!! I am constantly thinking of new and convenient ways to incorporate my veggies into my daily life without having to make a big to do about it anymore...because #TIME and #CHASINGABABY

So...

not like this is ground breaking of any sorts but hey it works!

Each night I have been taking a different set of veggies and roasting them. Sometimes alongside a protein like chicken, or chicken sausage, shrimp or pork and sometimes just alone.

I AM NOT WASTING MY VEGGIES ANYMORE YAY  ME!

VEGGIE COMBOS

Each combo just olive oil S&P

preheat 400 and roast for 15-20 mins

All Veggies should be chunked into large chunks

1. 1 bunch asparagus, 1 purple onion, bag of colorful sweet peppers chopped ( or just one large bell pepper chunked up) Sweet potato, Zuchinni

2. 1 crown of broccoli ( into florets), 1 head cauliflower (into florets), 1 purple onion ( or sweet), 1 green bell chunked, Squash

3. Eggplant ( skin off and chunked) , Bell pepper, White onion, Grape tomatoes, mushrooms

Seriously the sky is the limit with mixing and matching veggies. I feel like I am getting so much more out of my meals and I am not adding so many bad things ( rice, pasta ect) because I am getting so many vegetables!
